Low throughput rates at schools and universities are cause for great concern because of the resultant financial burden on the families and the state; the increase in unemployment; and the inadequate delivery of much-needed highly skilled professionals. The advent of the fourth economic wave – accompanied by fundamental changes in the workplace globally – has called for a judicious response from theorists, practitioners, researchers and learners. TTT is one such judicious but magnanimous response. We need to prepare our students to Excel instead of complaining that they are failing or dropping out. We need a solutions-driven approach to the dilemma and TTT –Transitioning to Tertiary is that Solutions-driven, proactive response. It is short but very significant.
